The AWEA Wind Project Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and Safety Conference is the annual event where the wind energy industry addresses the unique operations, maintenance and safety challenges and identifies solutions. As the wind energy industry continues to expand, so does the need for an evolving approach to operating the nation’s growing number of wind projects.
Fortunately, there is no shortage of experience to draw from in this arena. Individuals from across industry sectors and across functional disciplines will meet in San Diego, California, to set the vision and plan for continued and expanded operational excellence in the wind industry.
In 2017, when the largest North American gathering of wind energy operational professionals and technicians will convene, they will combine the essential elements of O&M, reliability, health and safety, workforce development, and quality assurance to develop a successful partnership for today and beyond.
Not only is the AWEA Wind Project O&M and Safety Conference the largest event of its kind, it’s shaped by a high level of owner-operator participation with information and analysis that only AWEA and its members can provide. Attendees will be in the company of an organisation that, along with its members, is dedicated to improving the industry landscape for all to benefit.
The 2017 programme is led by chairs Krys Rootham, vice-president of operations at Acciona Energy USA Global; and Gemma Smith, manager for environment, health and safety at Pattern Energy. They are joined by an experienced programme committee that includes representatives from Siemens, Vestas, EDF Renewable Energy, Mortenson Construction, Leeward Renewables, Gamesa, EDP Renewables, Invenergy and Duke Energy Renewables. Over the course of two days, attendees will experience a robust agenda spread across several interlacing tracks that include everything from turbine reliability, oil testing and NERC GADS, to arc flash, dropped objects, and behaviour and construction safety.
The conference will also feature a larger number of exhibitors than the previous year, with more than 60 industry professionals joining the event from across the O&M and safety sectors of the wind energy industry. AWEA will also present a pre-conference session.
In partnering for success, AWEA’s commitment to continuous improvement in safety, O&M and training will drive operational excellence for the wind energy industry.
The AWEA Wind Project O&M and Safety Conference will be held on 28 February–1 March, 2017 at Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego, California.
