In the beginning of 2017 Andrew Yaremiy, the president and CEO of Skyway Window Cleaning, saw the potential to grow their business by purchasing a big truck mounted aerial platform and decided to get a Bronto Skylift S70XR. "This is the first XR work platform that we have provided to US and as far as we know there is currently no higher truck mount in New York. Very nice start for our XR’s in this country", says Janne Pulkkinen, CEO of Bronto Skylift.
Skyway Window Cleaning provides professional window washing services in the Greater New York Area for different types of customers from building owners and hotels to retail stores and town home associations. Skyway Window Cleaning strive to provide the most efficient and safe window washing service. With a Bronto platform, it’s easier to do various façade work, such as pressure washing, window cleaning and inspections, efficiently. The new platform also reduces long-term operating costs by reducing the need to rent aerial equipment from other companies. "The process to make this kind of investment could be difficult, but it has been a real pleasure to deal with Bronto staff because of their helpful and professional attitude", Yaremiy said.
The aerial part was built in Bronto Skylift Oy in Finland and then shipped to Bronto Skylift in Orlando to be mounted on a Mack chassis. The S70XR was acquired because of it’s state-of-the-art technology. "We chose Bronto Skylift as our partner mainly because of the technological edge they have behind their platforms", Yaremiy continued. The S70XR platform provides working height of 70 metres (230 feet) and outreach of 36 metres (118 feet). Total weight is 36 tons and transportation length of only 12 metres (39 feet), which makes it ideal for road transportation in ordinary traffic and streets of Greater New York. In addition to the new platform, Skyway Windown Cleaning has one small 28 metre (92 feet) unit.
Skyway Window Cleaning chose multiple optional equipment to accompany their investment and make their work more efficient. Extendable working cage gives workers more space to do their work. Electricity, hydraulics and water outlet in the cage allow the use of, for example, power tools and washers, thus enabling multiple tasks to be carried out in the heights. Continuous 360-degree turntable rotation gives flexibility in boom movements and full ergonomic control centre in turntable adds comfort for the ground operator. Working lights and ultrasonic collision guards add safety of the operation. "We have now tested our brand new Bronto in our worksites and we are very happy with its performance. The platform will help us to provide even better services to our customers and do various jobs more efficiently. It’s also easier if there is no need to rent the equipment from outside and we can even rent the unit out to others", Yaremiy concluded.
